Echo

Echo – For Children In Conflict With Law (30)

The acronym of ECHO is “Empowerment of Children and Human Rights Organization” and was founded in 2000 by Dr. Antony Sebastion O. Praem, Advocate. ECHO was started to empower Children in Conflict with Law and Children in need of Care and Protection, under the Indian Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act 2000. In short, ECHO gave voices to thousands of neglected and delinquent children through legal aid, counselling, and releasing children from Government Observation Homes, Reception Centers and Children’s Homes. Legal proceedings for the transition of children to ECHO’s Transitional Home and Rehabilitation Centre are undertaken. ECHO SUMANAHALLI was started in 2005 for providing training and rehabilitation of such children. From 2015, it has been upgraded to the status of Special Home, for convicted children.
