Marriages

Community marriages for leprosy patients are a poignant expression of solidarity and compassion within society. In the face of prevalent social stigmatization, these events create a supportive environment where individuals affected by leprosy can celebrate love and companionship without the burden of societal prejudice. Community marriages go beyond the conventional concept of weddings, they serve as a powerful tool for challenging stereotypes and dispelling myths surrounding leprosy.

By bringing together communities to celebrate these unions, we not only empower leprosy patients to reclaim their right to love and partnership but also nurture an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding.

These marriages become symbolic acts of defiance against discrimination, contributing to a more inclusive and enlightened society that recognizes the inherent dignity and worth of every individual, regardless of health conditions.

To date, 176 members have had the opportunity to partake in communal marriages facilitated by the community.
